Kara has always asked the big questions – looking for connections to our world and the way people interact. Through her experiences in human services, working with youth and in ministry, she quickly recognized most of her time was spent helping people reframe stories they’ve told themselves about sex and relationships.
In 2015, Kara created Grace Unbound, a resource for teaching comprehensive sexual health without the shame or guilt, but with excitement, engagement, compassion, and the invitation to be vulnerable. Reframing our Stories launched in 2020 and through these companies, Kara has worked in homes, with schools, churches, and community groups domestically and abroad speaking on various topics of sexuality.
She has her BA in Psychology from Hope College in Holland, MI., a Masters in Theological Studies from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA, Post-Graduate Certificate in Sexual Health Education and Counseling from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and is a Certified Sexuality Educator. Kara lives in California with her husband and her two children.
